Selective cosmetics market: 70m euros

Today’s edition of Ziarul Financiar (ZF article in English) quotes the GM of Ina International estimating that the selective cosmetics and perfumery segment is at 70mil eur this year. I just don’t know where these numbers come from; I encountered this problem when working in consultancy, too, where you don’t really have market studies done on this segment.

The total cosmetics market is monitored, but try to get a straight answer about the categories that are included, and people don’t seem so sure anymore.

Strange thing… I thought this market was closely monitored on segments in ro.
In the zf article, the GM of Ina I.C. only ESTIMATED the evolution of the market for selective cosmetics in 2008. You might be right and I highly doubt they have any marketing research on this. Anyway, you might want to keep in mind this number, because the estimation from the market leader’s point of view usually tends to match the calculations at the end of the year ;)

the leader is sephora, by far. but my point is: there are no calculations and there is no real reporting on the numbers.
